The Pre-primary years in YGPS inculcate in children the qualities of curiosity, exploration and discovery in a fun-filled, safe and happy learning environment. The emphasis is on developing in students love of learning, social skills, moral values, and self-confidence. Teachers ensure this by letting the students explore, know, understand and form their own ideas. The principles of learning applied in pre-primary include Holistic Development through Integrated Learning, Active Learning, Supportive Learning, Interactive Learning and Learning through Play.
The pre-primary curriculum makes use of a range of individual and group activities which create a lively and positive learning environment. Games, songs, creative projects, story-telling, role-playing, drawing and painting help develop children's foundational skills in literacy and numeracy. The curriculum prepares children for a smooth transition to a rigorous Primary curriculum.

The objective behind doing so is our fervent desire to make every child excel and to open their eyes to possibilities that lie ahead of them in the world at large.
Our students' success, visible through excellent board results every year, is both due to their self-motivation arising from consistent evaluation and to a very high standard of teaching.
